With over 30 years of experience as a secondary school art educator, Alex has dedicated her life to inspiring creativity in others while cultivating her own artistic voice. Deeply influenced by the natural world, her work captures the textures, colors, and organic rhythms of landscapes, flora, and fauna.
From photography to expressive mixed media compositions, Alex explores the dynamic relationship between art and nature, reflecting both its serene beauty and untamed energy. Teaching has always been an integral part of her creative journey, as she believes in the transformative power of artistic expression—not only as a personal outlet but as a way to engage with the world. Now focusing more fully on her own practice, she continues to experiment with materials and techniques, driven by a profound appreciation for nature’s complexity and beauty.
Alex is a member of the Ontario Art Education Association (OAEA) and the Society of York Region Artists (SOYRA) and has had her work exhibited in multiple art exhibitions, in which she has won numerous awards. She has also served as a juror for the East Gwillimbury Garden Club Photography Contest and contributed to Ontario Arts curriculum writing.
